was born and resides in Rocky Mount, NC. All Martha’s life, she has loved Art! During her career as the Nash County Tourism Director, being creative was the most enjoyable part of her job! She used her artist flair in the development of an annual tourism marketing plan which included designing numbers brochures, a variety of Billboards and maintaining a website. After retiring in July of 2014, she rented a studio at the (former) Bel Air Artisan Center, her dream of becoming a full time artist became reality. The Bel Air Artisan Center was, also, home to many various artists who became some of her closest friends and played a large part in helping Martha develop her amazing talent, talk about on the job training! In the past four years, she has been happy painting and selling her work, entering local art shows and donating many of her paintings to various charity fund raisers. Martha has often said her talent was a gift and sharing her “fun flower paintings” is a blessing and a pleasure!
