was born and resides in Rocky Mount, NC. All Martha’s life, she has loved Art! During her career as the Nash County Tourism Director, being creative was the most enjoyable part of her job! She used her artist flair in the development of an annual tourism marketing plan which included designing numbers brochures, a variety of Billboards and maintaining a website. After retiring in July of 2014, she rented a studio at the (former) Bel Air Artisan Center, her dream of becoming a full time artist became reality.

was born in Rocky Mount in 1949. He attended ECU and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education with a focus on Printmaking under the master printer Donald Sexaur. Specializing in plein aire painting and florals, he was influenced by Claude Monet, Francis Speight, Winslow Homer, James McNeil Whistler, Charles Philip Brooks, and photographer Robert Eagles.
MARILYNN BARNER ANSELMI
and Red Oak Wood Shop began in 2013 when Marilynn and Jan Sullivan Volz decided to combine their love of old wood and iron into one of a kind pieces of reclaimed furniture. Since then they’ve created hundreds of unique pieces which reflect the history of eastern North Carolina with an artistic slant. Aside from wood art, Marilynn is an amazing playwright and a far too indulgent pet owner.
is a local North Carolina Artist currently residing in Wilson, NC. Ashley was born in New Britain CT and moved South at a young age. Ashley graduated High School in 2007. After attending Southern Nash High School with Art Honors and Multiple Awards in Competitive cheerleading, She received several scholarships and grants to attend the Private university, Barton College.
is a metalsmith and painter creating narrative works which strive to capture the inspiration and mystery of wild places. Growing up in the small town of LaGrange, GA, Laron found her fondest memories in days spent investigating the pine stand behind her home and doodling the horses she loved to ride. These early experiences shaped her artistic path and began a lifelong passion for the outdoors. After relocating to the Tampa Bay area, Laron attended the University of South Florida, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History with a Studio concentration in Painting.
graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University, with a focus in painting and printmaking. After moving back to North Carolina she received her Art Education degree from Wesleyan and started teaching art in NC public schools. She worked with students K-12 in eastern NC for the next 31 years and enjoyed this work. When she moved to Rocky Mount she became immersed in the arts, newly retired with time to pursue new ideas. She became a member of the ceramic studio at the Imperial center and a studio artist at the Bel Air Artisan’s Center.
is originally from Johnson City, TN where she grew up surrounded by mountains and family adventures. In 2016 Jillian graduated from Anderson University (Anderson, SC) with a degree in Painting and Drawing and a minor in Art History. She is currently living in Rocky Mount, NC with her husband of five years, Jono. Jillian’s passion is to merge art with interior design. Constantly being inspired by interior designers, home decor, and landscape scenery,
lived in Panama and Indiana before finally settling down in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, in 1998. As a little girl, she recalls her excitement going straight to the inside cover of a new coloring book, just so she could draw her own picture on the blank page. Her love for art blossomed as she took drawing and painting classes throughout high school in Indianapolis, Indiana. In college, she added a studio art minor to her Spanish and education degrees from Wake Forest University (B.A.) and NC State (M.S.A.).
is a licensed massage and bodywork therapist. He provides a form of alternative healthcare which specializes in improving the quality of life for others through very, focused touch. He has studied, and has been thoroughly trained, in various techniques, on how to use his hands and specific tools to affect the connective tissues, or in other words, the muscles of the human body. Performing this service brings about positive physical changes, as well as mental, and sometimes even emotional. Osborne was introduced to massage therapy when he was 14 years old.
